Fiesta!

I'm loving watching this wee girl blossom into such a wonderful big girl! This Fiesta shot sort of sums up her time at her pre-school. It's full of action, happiness, wonder and exploration!

Happy New Year (Again)

We went to China Town in LA this weekend for the big New Year's Parade. It was really, really quite a nice day. Everyone was in a good mood and we found a nice spot to watch the parade. We had noodles and saw baby turtles and the girls loved the huge tanks of fish. China Town is such a fun place to visit. Although, I must admit, I do miss Little China in SF. Ah well...

Merry Christmas!

Our Holiday eCard - the actual cards are still sitting on the kitchen table. Tsk-tsk!

We made gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. I had made a ton of them for Maggie's Kindergarten class and she got sick at school that day and had to miss the whole decorating experience. So, we re-created it at home. It was a lot of fun and there was quite a lot of sugar consumed...

Like this...

Everyone got in on the act.

Maggie was very methodical.

This little guy was made by Todd, who has waaay too much patience, out of mini marshmallows and tiny anise candies.

One of the finished products - voila!!

We made gingerbread men too. And, Momo decided to buck tradition and make a gingerbat!

And, now, a fun game for you to play... In the tradition of "Where's Waldo?", here's "Where's Momo?" Can you spot her???

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

A Few of My Favorite Things...

I keep seeing these wonderful lists of things that people like. Just random, happy little lists of the things that make people smile. So, minus a snappy title, here are a few things that make ME smile...

Can you believe it? It's a Halloween Izze and it's so pretty to look at and even prettier to drink. Yum...

I love the look of vintage Halloween decorations. Sadly, true vintage Halloween items are very expensive and very hard to find! I found this at Michael's - by Martha Stewart. Cute, vintage-like and $7!

Check out the cat - adorable!

I found these at a little antique store in Carpinteria - love, love, love! I'm waiting for some of the diners in my house to get a little bit older before we actually light the candles at dinner time.

A total score at the Pasadena Rosebowl Flea Market. A lovely vintage strawberry (can you tell I like strawberries?) table runner and five napkins. In great condition so they may just be nice repro prints.

I found these linens as well - adorable and the dogwood on the green is so freakin' pretty! No, I don't own an iron. (okay, I do, I just don't like to use it)

This is not one of my favorite things. However, it makes me smile when I see it on my oven. Blanket-O-Flame!! Sounds so dangerous...

I found this on eBay. Pajama Bags!! I dream of the girls tucking their jammies into one of these guys...

This is a perfect example of a craft gone wrong. I found this on the Anna Maria Horner website and for some reason, my fabric bubbled up on the canvas. I will try again because it is such a wonderful craft!

Farewell to Sunburnt Arms

Ahh, another looong pause between posts. I've found this thing they call Facebook on the internet. Have you heard of it?

Hee...

Reasons why I wish to remove myself from Facebook:
1) It takes up way too much of my time.
2) It makes me feel highly inadequate for having such a SMALL circle of friends. How DO people have 387 friends, really??
3) It makes me slightly uncomfortable to peek at friend's of friend's photos - awkward photos if you know what I mean...
4) I feel bad if I don't return a Scrabble play in a timely manner.
5) It takes up way too much of my time.

So, here are the last photos of the Summer 2008 (our trip to Carpinteria) and, hopefully, the first of a new round of posts for me. Really...
